4 Ways To Instantly Ruin Your Vacation

Spread the love

The idea of going on a vacation is to have a relaxing experience which allows you to escape from the daily grind of your everyday life. It’s an opportunity to have a fun break from “real life” with a stress-free trip which allows you to forget your problems.

However, there are a few ways to instantly ruin a good vacation.  Here are some of the best ways to immediately wreak havoc on your trip.

Get In Trouble With The Law

Breaking the law is one of the most effective ways to find yourself in jail.  A lot of vacationers make the mistake of getting intoxicated during their trip and end up making questionable choices like public intoxication.  They end up getting into trouble with the law by acting disorderly in public, or in some cases even getting behind the wheel.

It’s a good idea to keep your behavior on a good level while traveling particularly in a different country.  You never know what kind of laws exist away from home and whether they may be much steeper. You’re better off being responsible and respectful.

Miss Your Flight

A lot of people fail to plan to get to the airport on time and as a result, miss their flights.  It’s a good idea to check ahead of time on the status of your flight.  You should arrive at the airport at least two hours ahead for international flights and minimally one hour and a half before domestic flights.  However, many seasoned travelers recommend arriving two hours early regardless of where you’re going.

You never know what kind of traffic conditions you’ll hit, or how long the security line will be.  Missing your flight is an expensive accident which can instantly ruin your trip to the point of it being canceled altogether if you’re not careful.

Get a Sunburn

When traveling to a place with a warm climate, you should be smart about sun protection.  Many naive tourists fail to put on enough SPF which result in a sunburn that leaves them unable to be in the sun again for the rest of the duration of their trip.

Always apply sunblock every few hours when under strong sunlight.  You’ll not only guard yourself against a painful burn which will cause you to toss and turn at night, but you’ll also be protecting yourself against cancer.

Lose Your Wallet

When you’re far from your home and your family, it’s vital that you keep all of your important documents and access to funds safe.  Otherwise, you could find yourself without money in a foreign country.

Not having access to funds without a form of identification is no one’s idea of a relaxing vacation.
