Travelling in Bangkok

Spread the love

Though Bangkok is a popular tourist destination for people who want to experience the culture and natural beauty of the Far East, it isn’t one of the easier cities to love. You may plan a day’s worth of visits to different attractions in the city. However, a couple of days are never enough for a great place like Bangkok. You need at least three to four days to get around Bangkok and get to see all that it has to offer. If you have an entire week, nothing better than that.

Bangkok is a blend of old culture and modern amenities. You might take some time to get used to it. However, once you do, it will be an easy ride. It is known as ‘Venice of the East’ and has a good reason behind it. There are several temples and palaces to explore and most of the beautiful beaches and islands surrounding Bangkok are at a stone’s throw distance (well, not literally but they are close!).

Moving around in Bangkok

You will find many temples here which will make your journey more spiritual. The grand architecture of these buildings has stood the test of time and they still look beautiful and fresh. Take the example of the Grand Palace. You can’t go inside the Palace but just looking at it tells you the finesse and craftsmanship of Thai people.

Check out the reclining Buddha statue or go to the Wat Sakhte golden stupa. There are floating markets in the city which not only present a beautiful sight but also gives you a chance to take cool pictures. The most popular floating markets are in Thaling Chan and Khlong Lat Mayom.

There are plenty of unique attractions in the city that you will enjoy too. If you are a fan of architecture, you will enjoy going around the Suan Pakkard Palace. It even has an antique-teak-house collection that will completely blow your mind away.

Interesting places to visit

Thai silk industry is very popular. You could go to the Jim Thompson House to check out how it works. Go to the Queen Saowapha Snake Farm and see live python feeding. You could even see the venom extraction process up close here. If you to see the largest golden teak building in the world, go to the famed Vimanmek Mansion.

Backpackers love the Khao San Road, located in Banglamphu. You will find everything from street food to authentic local lifestyles in this region. Chinatown is also a great place to visit. It has a beautiful Flower Market

If you like temples, then you should definitely visit the Old City. Here you will find some of the most beautiful temples in the world- opulent and grand, including the Wat Phra Kaew and the Wat Po. If you want something even more unique, checking out the temple of the dawn or Wat Arun.

These were some of the major attractions that you should consider visiting in Bangkok. They are quite beautiful and you will definitely get a bang for your buck when you visit this beautiful city.
